Hello friends! I am thrilled to introduce the brand new Purple Onion Designs Charmed By the Sea Collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula! I absolutely love this set and had so much fun creating with it.
For my card today, I used the following stamps:
- Beaks (Pelican)
- Wood Post Set
- Wharf Accessories (seagulls)
- Seaside Sentiment Set
- Clear Mounting Stamp (this stamp is perfect for mounting un-mounted rubber stamps with your MISTI or stamping block)
To start, I used my MISTI along with a 4″x6″ clear mounting stamp, and I stamped my images onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped my images a second time onto a piece of Gina K. Designs Masking Magic Sheets and fussy cut them so that I could cover the images on my main card. Once I masked my images, I then lightly blended a section of my background with some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink. Once done, I then added some white spatters using diluted Copic Opaque White Paint.
Lastly, I removed my masking pieces and then colored my images with Copic Markers.

- Seagulls: 0, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7
- Pelican: 0, W00, W1, W3
- Sand: E30, E31, E33, E35
- Posts: E31, E23, E25, E29
- Orange: YR04, YR68, YR18

Super cute images colored wonderfully. I like the softness of the background so that the pelican and seagulls are featured. Terrific one layer card, Rachel!

There’s something about a pelican on a pile … it just seems to be their favorite spot! Although I live in farm country, we do see loads of seagulls when the earth has been tilled under. They love the gifts the earth holds. Nicely done and Stacey always does such a great illustration.
