Whimsy Stamps | Easy No Fuss Masking – Nativity Stamp Set

December 23, 2023

Hello crafty friends! Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate and Happy Holidays! I have a slimline card to share with you featuring the sweet Nativity Stamp Set and Nativity No Fuss Masks from Whimsy Stamps.

Did you know that Whimsy Stamps is the innovator of the No Fuss Masking sheets? If you have ever wanted to try masking, but have not wanted to do all of the fussy cutting, these masks are for you! Whimsy stamps now offers these masking sheets for many of their stamp sets at a very reasonable cost. All of the fussy cutting is done for you! You simply remove the certain mask(s) from the sheet and apply it to the image(s) on your card while stamping.

I used the Nativity No Fuss Masks along with the Nativity Clear Stamp Set (illustrated by Crissy Armstrong) to create my one-layer slimline card today. These no fuss masks took out a lot of the busy work, making it a lot easier to create this type of card.

When I make any one-layered card, I usually start with a template from which to work from. I have numbered my template above to show you the order of my layers. I stamped all images with the #1 first, #2 second, and #3 third, adding a mask to each of them after they were stamped.

Once I was done stamping and masking my images, I then blended my background with some Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion, and Black Soot Distress Inks. I then added some spatters of diluted Copic Opaque White Paint to give the illusion of stars.

Lastly, I removed my masks, colored my images with Copic alcohol markers, and heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.
