Spellbinders | Coastal Escape View Shaker Window

March 19, 2024

Hello crafty friends! I hope this finds you well!

I wanted to share a fun shaker card that I made using the Spellbinders Coastal Escape View Etched Die Set which is part of the Windows With a View Collection by Tina Smith. Last month, I shared a different card that I created using other products from this collection that you can view HERE.

The only stamping that I did in my card today was for my sentiment. The rest of my items were die cut and given shading with a variety of Distress Inks. I used a bunch of Spellbinders colored card stock pieces (colors listed in the links at the bottom of this post) to die cut both my fish and foliage. I then used some Distress Inks to add some shading to each piece and a white gel pen to add some light accents.

For my ocean background, I blended a mix of Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot Distress Inks onto a circle that I had die cut from a piece of smooth white card stock. I added some water spatters to this piece to give my background some texture and then blotted it dry with a clean paper towel. Next, I used the circular window die and circular shadow die that comes in this set to die cut 5 port window frames from white card stock. I glued four of these frames together using some liquid adhesive and then adhered this 4-framed piece onto my ink-blended piece after I had first adhered my fish and foliage.

Next, I added some 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins into the center of this piece and covered it with a circular piece of clear acetate. I then added my top circular frame after I had covered it with some VersaMark Clear Ink and heat embossed it with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. This step isn’t necessary, but I love the look of the embossing powder when creating this sea-view port window. Lastly, I added a Fashion Gold Embellishment half pearl over the top of each small hole on the window.

As I mentioned above, here is the other card that I created using other products from this amazing collection. For all the details, you can simply click the photo above or HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my card! Wishing you all a lovely day.

Oh I could use some vitamin sea today! We are getting more snow and only 31 degrees. I am so ready for some spring. Although you make this sound so simple, that background makes it look like real water… love this so much and TFS

Oh my goodness, 31 degrees would be awful!! (At least for me it would be lol.) I hope spring comes to you soon! Hugs!
