Hello friends! If you haven’t yet checked out this month’s Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders, I highly encourage you to do so! I created a fun DIY shadow box card (measurements below) that can be used as a fall decoration, a handmade gift, or a fun 3D pop up card!

When upright, my box card measures at 5.5″ wide, 5″ tall, and 1.5″ deep. When folded flat, it measures at 5″ x 7″ and fits perfectly into a standard 5×7 envelope. For the inside of my card, I used the adorable new Picture Perfect Autumn Die Set which is this month’s Large Die of the Month Set. The nice thing about the Spellbinder’s clubs are that you can join to get this month’s set and then can cancel and rejoin at any time based on whether or not you want the next month’s set.

STEP BY STEP MEASUREMENTS FOR SHADOW BOX:
- Trim two pieces of heavyweight (I used 110lb) card stock to 8.5″ x 5″
- Score each of these pieces at 1.5″ from each end
- Fold the ends up at the score lines to create the sides of the box card that will eventually overlap and hold the box together.
- Die cut a window in the front center of one of the pieces. I used the largest rectangular die from the Nested Postage Label & Tag Etched Dies.
- Trim inner shelf pieces (I made 3) to 2.5″ x 6.25″ and die cut with whatever border you want to use. I used the borders that came with the die set.
- Score each shelf piece at 3/8″ from each end in order to form tabs to glue to each side of the inner shadow box wall.
- Finish by adding inner images and sentiment.

I love how versatile this set is! You can use it all year round based on the colors you use. You can mix and match the pieces with other sets or just use the pieces alone.

If you look at the photo below, you can see how this card folds easily to fit into a 5×7 envelope for mailing.

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by! I hope you enjoyed my card today. Wishing you all a lovely day!

Rachel this is just so beautiful. About 5 miles from my house there is just such a farm and every year they sell pumpkins. The whole front yard is just covered with pumpkins of many sizes. I love taking my granddaughters there to pick out some for their home. Love all these colors. Plus, BONUS, a box card. You know how I love those. Thanks for sharing…
Thank you so much for your sweet words, my friend! 🩷 My parents used to live in an area surrounded by farmland in Pennsylvania, and we always had so much fun taking the kids up there to pick pumpkins and go on hayrides etc. I really miss those times!
