My card today showcases the LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH CLUB.

The theme for the clubs this month has been birthday. I decided to add a little bit of a twist to my project today. Although you can still use my style of card for a December birthday, I geared mine more toward a Christmas card since the holidays are quickly approaching and many of us are looking for ideas to create a variety of Christmas cards for our friends and family. I love when products are versatile and this month’s Large Die of the Month Club set is perfect for multiple occasions!
(Scroll to the bottom of this post to see another card that I made earlier this month that does show this set being used as a birthday theme.)

I started my project by first creating my festive red and green card base. To do this, I first trimmed a piece of 100lb white card stock to 4.25″ x 5.5″. Next, I trimmed long strips of green and red card stock at 1/2″ wide. I then added double-sided adhesive tape to my A2 base piece and attached the strips at a diagonal angle, alternating the colors as I went. When I finished, I trimmed off the overlying pieces of card stock with my paper trimmer along each edge.

Next, I die cut all of my pieces for my images from colored card stock. All of the images that you see here come in this month’s Large Die of the Month die set except for the tree and the Christmas hat. If you own last month’s club, you will already own the Christmas hat that I used. But if not, many of us have other sets that have a Santa/holiday-themed hat that will work perfectly! The tree came from the Gnome Drive Holiday Etched Die Set which is currently half off.

I then assembled all of my pieces and stuck them together with some liquid adhesive. I also die cut a beautiful wavy-edged focal piece from white card stock and adhered it to my striped base with some dimensional tape after stamping my “Merry Christmas” sentiment on top of it.
I absolutely LOVE this gorgeous base piece from this month’s set and plan on using it for future projects. This piece alone can be used all year round and adds a beautiful focal point to your cards. Also, it’s perfect for using as a window for shaker cards (as you can see in my second card below).

Here is the other card that I made this month showing this set being used as a birthday-themed card. Simply click on either picture above for more details on how I made this card.
