Spellbinders | Vivid Expressions Collection

January 16, 2025

Hello my friends! I have a gorgeous new collection to share with you today from Spellbinders. I created three die-cut projects to share with you using new products from the Vivid Expressions Collection.

** All product links for the products shown in my cards today can be found at the bottom of this post. Affiliated links were used where applicable at no extra cost to you. **

My first card features the beautiful new Blooming Butterflies 3D Cut & Emboss Folder along with some foliage dies from the Vivid Blooms Etched Dies Set. This card was super fun and easy to make! I started off by first embossing five butterflies in my 8.5″ Platform Spellbinders New & Improved Platinum Die Cutting Machine with Universal Plate System. I mention this because you need to have a die cutting machine that is compatible with 3D Embossing Folders in order to use this product.

I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to emboss my images, but any light card stock that is good with ink-blending will work. I then added color to my butterflies by blending them with Distress Inks.

Next, I die cut two foliage pieces (from the Vivid Blooms Etched Die Set) from some green card stock and lightly blended their edges with some Mowed Lawn and Black Soot Distress Inks for some added color and shading.

I then trimmed a piece of Fog card stock to 3.5″ x 8.5″ and layered it with a 3.25″ x 8.25″ piece of cream colored card stock that I had lightly spattered with some black diluted watercolor paint. I then adhered my foliage with some liquid adhesive as well as my butterflies that I first propped up prior to glueing them to my card base. Lastly, I added my sentiment that I had die cut using the Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set.

My second card features the Vivid Blooms Die Set along with the gorgeous Eyelet Scallop Border Etched Dies Set. I think this border die is absolutely stunning and love the gorgeous detail on it. I die cut all of my pieces from colored card stock and then adhered them to my card base with either 3D foam adhesive tape or liquid adhesive depending on which items I wanted popped up or not.

Once again, I die cut my scripted sentiment from the new Vivid Script Sentiment Dies.

TIP: When I glue my foliage pieces to my card base, many times I only add glue to the bottom portion of the stem and allow the rest of the leaves to pop/fold up a bit so that they look more natural and not just flat.

My last card once again features the Blooming Butterflies Cut & Emboss 3D Folder. This time, I also used the embossed floral section that comes with the folder. I embossed all of my images onto some white card stock and lightly blended them with Distress Ink as I had done in my first card.

This time, I used Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet. For my card background, I used Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my cards and will give this gorgeous collection a look!

Boy these are all so beautiful. I especially love the butterflies. My granddaughter will be turning 11 in May, she is so in love with butterflies. For her last birthday I got her a cross body bag with butterflies everywhere. Plus I folded two 5 dollar bills into a lovely butterfly shape. She just squealed with delight. TFS and I am going to check that one out…
