Spellbinders | Yana’s Daisies

April 11, 2025

Hello friends! I have two cards to share with you today that showcase some beautiful new products from Yana Smakula’s new daisy collection for Spellbinders.

My first card features Yana’s Daisies Etched Dies on a purple ink-blended background. I diet cut the outline piece two times, once from green card stock and the other from white. I added some ink blending to the leaves to give them some depth and then cut the leaf portion off on the white outline piece. Next, I glued the back of the white outlined piece and adhered it to the top of my green piece so that it looked like white outlined daisies with green leaves.

I then die cut a light gray floral base/background piece and adhered my outlined piece on top of it. Following that, I lightly ink-blended each inner leaf piece of each flower (that I had cut from the white card stock and set aside) before piecing each one into place inside the outline.

Lastly, I used some VersaMark clear ink and black card stock to press my sentiment and then heat emboss it with fine detail white embossing powder. I attached all of these images to my card base that I had ink-blended with Pinkfresh Studio Soft Lilac, Candy Violet, and Lavender Inks.

My second card features the new Daisy Trio BetterPress and Stencil Bundle. I ran a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Porcelain BetterPress Cotton card stock into my die cutting machine with my BetterPress machine. Prior to doing this, I had inked my plate with some Pinkfresh Studio Slumber, Blue Jay, and Sapphire Inks. I needed to repeat this process three times to get the coverage I was looking for.

Once my background was completely dry, I then used the coordinating stencils and some Misty Coast and Rocky Slope Pinkfresh Inks to give my white flowers some shading.

I also used some Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, and Candy Violet Inks to blend my flower centers and Grassy Knoll for my green stems. I finished my card by adding my sentiment and some white accents with a white gel pen.
