Hello crafty friends! I have a fun one-layer card to share with you today that features the brand new Spellbinders “Holiday Group Hug” Stamp Set from the new Tinsel Time Collection. This stamp is super easy to use and looks so cute on your card front.
You can easily make a card similar to mine without too much effort. To start, I stamped my image onto a 4.5″ x 5.75 piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped it again onto a piece of Gina K Designs Masking Magic Sheets and used a sharp pair of scissors to fussy cut my masking piece.

Next, I adhered my masking piece directly over my stamped image on my card stock base. I then added another mask that I had cut from the masking sheet by hand that resembled a snow drift, and placed this over my first mask and image about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of my card. (The purpose of this was to look like my group was standing in a snowy field.) Once my masking pieces were securely in place, I then ink blended a bold sky for my background with some Distress Inks (Uncharted Mariner, Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina, and Tumbled Glass), starting with the darkest color toward the bottom and working my way up toward the lightest one. I then lightly spattered this area with water, quickly blotted it dry with a clean paper towel, and then spattered it with diluted opaque white paint to resemble snow.

Next, I removed my masking pieces, allowed my panel to dry, and then colored my images with Copic Markers. Once I finished coloring, I stamped my sentiment from the Big Holiday Words Stamp Set and added one more snow drift in the front of my images that I had fussy cut from some Snowdrift Card Stock. Lastly, I used a #10 Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen to add some snow over top of my images to really add to the snowy day effect.

I saw it first on Instagram and was so pleased by their little faces. September is approaching quickly and that means fun holidays coming very soon. Halloween is my favorite, but I do quite a few Christmas cards too. Lovely job and TFS
